EFAS Statement on Surgical Practice

The European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) underscores that surgical procedures on the foot and ankle should only be performed by medically trained surgeons who are fully accountable for their treatment decisions and outcomes. Due to significant variations in regulations, training standards, reimbursement policies, and legal frameworks across countries, EFAS strongly advises that patients with foot and ankle conditions entrust their care solely to qualified surgeons who can be held legally responsible for their actions.
